EgyptAir and Aegean Airlines sign new code-share agreement

The Star Alliance Members, EgyptAir and Aegean Airlines, have recently signed new code-share agreement.

The agreement comes in the light of EgyptAir’s strategy to expand its network worldwide and to enhance its existence in Greece.

Capt Hossam Kamal, EgyptAir Holding chairman and CEO said: “Signing this important agreement with Aegean Airlines aims mainly at encouraging the incoming tourism traffic from Europe into Egypt’s top leisure destinations especially that EgyptAir is working on activating more code share agreements with the world’s top airlines, in addition to operating new routes and increasing frequencies on a number of routes with increasing load factors in order to encourage traffic via Cairo Airport, the northern gateway to the Middle East and Africa.”

This agreement will commence in the 27th of October 2013.

Aegean Airlines customers will be able to fly on EgyptAir flights between Cairo / Athens and between Alexandria / Athens.
