Delta-US Airways Slot Share Finally Approved
The US Department for Transport has granted final approval for Delta Air Lines and US Airways to swap slots at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
Approval is on the condition that the carriers lose a number of slots each (14 pairs of daily slots at Reagan National and 20 pairs at laGuardia), in the interests of preserving competition.
On August 12 last year, US Airways made a request for 42 pairs of daily slots at Reagan Washington National in exchange for Delta obtaining 125 slot pairs at LaGuardia.
