Delta Air Lines opened a 34,000-ft.² lounge at its Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) hub with space to accommodate 600 passengers, one of the largest lounges in its network. The lounge, the airline’s second at SLC, “features panoramic airfield views" as well as "a wrap-around premium bar,” Delta said. It also includes nine soundproof phone booths and “an expansive food buffet.”
London Heathrow Airport (LHR) generated £2.7 billion ($3.6 billion) in revenue in the first nine months of 2025, up 2% year over year. LHR said the increase was “driven by strong long-haul flying, increased uptake of premium services and favorable property performance.” Passenger traffic for the year’s first three quarters totaled 63.3 million, up slightly from 63.1 million passengers in the first nine months of 2024.
Latin American airport services company Talma signed a contract with Haitian carrier Sunrise Airlines to provide cargo and ground handling services at the new Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru. Talma said the contract covers “aircraft servicing on the airport apron from arrival to departure, including parking, aircraft loading and unloading, cabin cleaning and auxiliary ground support services.” Cargo handling will include “specialized processes for general cargo, perishable products, dangerous goods, high-value cargo and temperature-controlled shipments, both for import and export.”
Swissport added New Chitose Airport (CTS) in Sapporo, Japan, to the list of airports at which it provides ground handling services. Swissport will support South Korean LCC Eastar Jet’s daily flights between CTS and Busan, South Korea.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) in Nevada broke ground on a $299 million rental car and ground transportation center. The facility will consolidate “all rental car operations and ground transportation providers into a single, on-airport location with direct pedestrian access from baggage claim via a covered walkway,” the airport said. The transportation center will have 24 fueling stations and six car washes. All ground transportation services will be based at the facility, including hotel and casino shuttles, buses, taxis and rideshare services. The facility, set to open in 2028, will allow RNO to free up public parking garage space now used to store rental cars.
