Aires has 29 years of non-stop operation, becoming one of the best known airlines in the Colombian region.
Focus on fast-growing of international market. AIRES is positioned to continue to be a market leader in 2010 and 2011. On July 2009, AIRES launched its low-cost line, actually the leading LCC in Colombia
With its main base in the Colombian capital city of Bogata, Aires now operates around 1296 daily departures in its network, with over 401 from Bogota this accounts for over 30% off all of the carriers network departures, its next largest base is at Medellin where it operates over 100 daily flights.
The growing carrier now operates 33 cities in Colombia, Maracaibo in Venezuela, Tocumen in Panama, Aruba and Curacao and has recently commenced its first scheduled service to the US with daily service from Bogota to Fort Lauderdale. Aires operates a combination of Dash8 aircraft, predominately for shorter stage lengths, and its B737-800 for the longer sectors and trunk routes.
Aires has added over 10 city pairs in 2009 which have been mainly domestic but now has a focus to expand its International network with new routes and by agreeing codeshares with other carriers. In the competitive Bogata market, Aires is now the second largest players, second only to the national carrier of Colombia, Avianca which operates 1200 weekly departures giving it a 50% market share.
