Kenya Airways is advancing plans to grow its air cargo business by introducing Boeing 767 freighters to its fleet.
The airline expects to receive its first Boeing 767F by the end of the first quarter of 2026, with a second aircraft scheduled to join the fleet within a few months.
The expansion is part of the airline’s strategy to double the contribution of its cargo division to overall group revenues, from the current 10% to 20% within the year.
The 767 freighters are expected to serve as a short-term solution as Kenya Airways awaits delivery of larger Boeing 777F aircraft. The airline plans to operate three 777Fs by 2030, but deliveries have been delayed due to limited availability of the widebody freighters.
Once operational, the 777Fs are expected to serve long-haul routes in the Asia-Pacific region.
Currently, Kenya Airways operates four narrowbody freighters, comprising two 737-300Fs and two 737-800Fs.
