IndiGo’s first foray into Western Europe is among the more eye-catching route launches happening in July 2025.

The airline will begin 3X-weekly services from Mumbai to Amsterdam and Manchester on July 1 and 2, respectively, using Boeing 787-9s damp-leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. The flights mark IndiGo’s debut in long-haul Western European markets and make it the only Indian carrier offering nonstop service on these city pairs.

China Eastern Airlines is expanding its European footprint in July with new links to Paris and Copenhagen. A once-weekly service from Nanjing Lukou International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle begins July 9, operated with 777-300ERs. On July 17, the carrier will launch a 3X-weekly route from Shanghai Pudong to Copenhagen Kastrup Airport—the main hub of its SkyTeam partner Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)—using Airbus A330-200s.

The additions come as China Eastern continues to benefit from access to Russian airspace, providing a major advantage over many Western carriers still restricted due to sanctions stemming from the Russia–Ukraine war.

From the Gulf, Emirates is further deepening its presence in China. On July 1, it launches service to Shenzhen, followed by nonstop flights to Hangzhou from July 30. Both routes will be flown with 777-300ERs and bring the airline’s total weekly departures to mainland China to 49, supporting growing demand for bilateral travel and trade.

Fellow United Arab Emirates carrier Etihad Airways will begin flights to Atlanta from Abu Dhabi on July 2, operated four times per week with A350-1000s. The frequency is scheduled to increase to daily in November. The move complements Etihad’s existing U.S. network, which includes Chicago, New York and Washington.

Elsewhere, United Airlines continues to add more intra-Asia flying with a route from Tokyo Narita to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, starting on July 11. Service will be daily using 737-800 aircraft, making United the only U.S. carrier to serve Taiwan’s second-largest city.
