Airline In Focus: Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines, founded in 1932 as McGee Airways, has grown from a small regional operator in Alaska into a major U.S. carrier with a strong presence along the West Coast.
The airline today serves more than 120 destinations across North America, with hubs in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Anchorage.
A significant strategic shift followed the acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, which brought widebody aircraft and an established network across the Pacific into the Alaska Air Group portfolio.
Building on Hawaiian’s services to markets such as Japan and South Korea, the group is evaluating opportunities to expand further in the Asia-Pacific region and is set to launch its first transatlantic routes from Seattle.
Alaska Airlines is one of the airlines registered to attend the Routes Europe in Rimini, Italy.
