A new report released by the Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB) reveals an inflight diversion of an Etihad Airways Boeing 777-300ER on Oct. 14, 2017 caused by chafing and arcing of incorrectly installed wire bundles led Boeing to subsequently introduce new production-line inspections and issue maintenance recommendations to operators.

On Aug. 22, 2018 ATW 's Americas editor Mark Nensel flew on Embraer’s E190-E2 demonstration aircraft out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The Brazilian manufacturer secured firm orders and commitments for 46 E190-E2s at the Farnborough Air Show in July, an orderbook Embraer Commercial Aviation VP-Marketing Rodrigo Silva E Souza told ATW will be completely firmed by year-end.
