ATW Editors Awarded For Airliner Safety Article

ATW editors were recognized at the 2026 Aerospace Media Awards in London for their report on the dangers to airliners posed by power banks and lithium-ion batteries.

ATW European bureau chief editor Victoria Moores and senior editors Chen Chuanren, Alan Dron and Aaron Karp won the Best Safety, Training & Simulation category for their magazine feature A Burning Issue. Subscribers can read it here.

Colleagues across the Aviation Week by Informa award winners also included Aviation Week senior editor Guy Norris, who has reported on the industry since 1987 and received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Norris, along with Aviation Week executive technology editor Graham Warwick, also won the Best Breaking News category for their co-written article on how satellite images had revealed a new widebody transonic test site in China.

CAPA chief airport analyst David Bentley won the Best Efficiency and Sustainable Aviation award for his feature on green financing of airports. Aviation Week Check 6 podcast won Best Multimedia Aviation category and Aviation Week emerging technologies editor Garrett Reim won Best In-depth Feature category for his article on Quantum weaponry.

The Aerospace Media Awards were presented at a July 19 gala in London on the eve of the Farnborough Airshow. This year’s winners were selected from more than 700 entries reviewed by a team of 13 judges.
