SINGAPORE—The number of Embraer 190/195-E2 jets on the ground due to issues with the Pratt & Whitney PW1900G is now down to five and will soon be zero, according to Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.

“We are very pleased with what [Pratt & Whitney] are delivering,” Meijer says on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow. “They have really stepped up.” Turnaround times for engines in the shops are also shortening and no engines affected by the power metal issues are currently flying thanks to more spares being brought in.

At the peak in 2025, 35 E2s globally were grounded.

Meijer said Embraer has been able to build up a spares pool since last year. Further improvements for the PW1900Gs are due to be introduced in 2027, upgrades that are needed in particular for operations in hot and high conditions.

Embraer delivered 44 E2s and 34 175-E1s in 2025. The company will give its first delivery guidance for 2026 at the end of February. It is targeting more than 100 E-Jet deliveries annually within the next few years.
