FARNBOROUGH—Embraer has announced firm orders for 30 passenger E-Jets and an MOU for 20 E-freighter conversions, naming Abra Group, lessor Azorra, Binter Canarias, Luxair and Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA) as its latest customers.
Abra Group’s decision to take 20 Embraer E195-E2s is notable because the company, which owns GOL and Avianca, is a new Embraer customer. Abra has taken options on 10 additional aircraft and purchase rights on 15 more. The Abra aircraft will start delivering in 2027.
“With the Abra Group, we are bringing our E2 operator count to 25 operators,” Embraer Commercial Aircraft CEO Arjan Meijer said.
During a media briefing at the Farnborough Airshow, Embraer also announced follow-on orders from Binter Canarias (five 195-E2s), Luxair (three E190-E2s, one purchase right) and FDA (two E175s)
This adds 28 new firm orders to Embraer’s Q3 2026 backlog. The FDA order was already in the backlog, but previously undisclosed.
FDA is a Japanese full-service regional airline with two E170s and 13 E175s. The additional two E175s, configured in a single-class 84-seat layout, will deliver in 2027 and 2028. FDA operates a network of 29 routes serving 17 airports nationwide.
Binter Canarias was Embraer’s European E195-E2 launch operator in 2019. Since then, Binter’s fleet has grown to 16 E195-E2s, flying routes from the Canary Islands and surrounding regions. Today’s announcement marks Binter Canarias’ fourth follow-on order.
Embraer Commercial Aviation CCO Martyn Holmes said the E195-E2 entered service with Luxair in January. Luxair now has four of the type in service and two on order plus today’s announcement.
Lessor Azorra also signed an MOU covering 20 Embraer 190Fs, which it will convert from its existing E1 fleet, along with 10 purchase rights.
“Today we announced 30 E-Jet orders in total—two of those were already in the backlog—and 20 E-Freighter conversions,” Meijer said. “That brings the total E-Jet sales for 2026 from mid-year to 66 firm orders. So, with a guidance of 80 to 85 units, we're tracking very well.”
