The Missouri airport is preparing to close its existing terminals.

The carrier will operate 18 routes from Long Beach by March.

The ULCC is adding 27 new routes between April and June, including launching flights to two new destinations in Mexico.

The Texas-based carrier will add 10 domestic routes and four international routes from the state's capital.

The carrier will serve nine destinations from Kansas City by June 10.

The expansion indicates the carriers are not concerned by complaints from the likes of Spirit Airlines.

The airline has grown its network by eight destinations over the last year despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Southwest Airlines will launch a daily flight between Kansas City and Austin from March 13, 2017 using a Boeing 737. Ranked by daily passengers, Austin is the largest destination from Kansas City without non-stop air service, with 98 passengers per day each way.

The network growth will be facilitated by the expansion of the airline’s Embraer E-Jet fleet, which is flown on its behalf through a capacity purchase agreement with SkyWest Airlines. The first three E175 aircraft arrived earlier this summer and were introduced into passenger operations at the start of this month, including launching a new link between Portland and St Louis.

The carrier will launch service to four new markets during the first quarter of 2015 with daily direct flights from Miami International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom, Kansas City, Salt Lake City and San Antonio. These flights will commence on March 5, 2015 and will be flown by a Boeing 737-800.

US ultra low-fare carrier, Spirit Airlines, has announced it will expand its domestic to offering into Kansas City with the launch of five new routes this summer with daily flights to Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston and Las Vegas from August 2014.
