The Reykjavik-based startup has revealed the first two destinations in the US it plans to serve as the airline pursues a low-cost long-haul connecting strategy between Europe and the US via Iceland.
Northern Italian regional airline Sky Alps relaunched operations Dec. 13 after its home airport reopened following the completion of a runway extension.
The Gatwick offshoot—expected to be named BA EuroFlyer later in 2022 once it receives its air operator’s certificate—is set to compete against easyJet on 33 routes.
The UK airline will resurrect short-haul operations from London Gatwick in March when its new lower-cost subsidiary is set to go head-to-head with easyJet.
