From The Archives: Saturn S-4B Battleship Test Shown In Photo Sequence

See some impressive images of the Saturn S-4B Battleship Test shown in photo sequence on page 39 of the January 4, 1965 issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology. 

The first image shows just after the ignition of the 200,000 lb. thrust J-2 engine, flame, and steam can be seen beginning to roll off the water-cooled flame deflector. See more images of the test at Douglas Missile & Space Systems Division's Sacramento Test Center.
