From The Archives: Gemini 8 Approaches Agena For Docking
Gemini 8 spacecraft nears its Agena target vehicle on March 16, 1966, a few minutes before achieving the first docking of two vehicles in space (March 21, page 30).
Astronaut David R. Scott took this picture with a hand-held 70mm. Hasselblad camera while the two vehicles were 55 ft. apart.
L-band spiral antenna extends from the Agena near the notched docking cone at the right end of the target vehicle and the nose of Gemini 8 is visible at the lower left of the photo.
