SINGAPORE—Embraer will bring its C-390 Millennium transport aircraft here for the first time, following a streak of sale successes, including in South Korea.

Prior to Singapore, the C-390 will also be participating at the World Defense Show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In December 2023, South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced it would acquire three C-390s under the Large Transport Aircraft-II (LTA-II) program, choosing it over the Lockheed C-130J-30 and Airbus A400M.

South Korea has become the seventh country to select the Brazilian tanker-transport and the first in Asia.

While there are currently no major transport aircraft campaigns in the Southeast Asia region, medium/long-term transport aircraft competitions are expected from Singapore and Thailand, to replace the venerable C-130B/Hs.

Embraer has penetrated the Singapore market with local low-cost carrier Scoot, leasing nine E190-E2 regional airliners that are due for delivery starting in March 2024. The manufacturer will again bring the E195-E2, but this time in the “Tech Eagle” livery.

In addition to the C-390, Embraer is debuting the Praetor 600 business jet and the Eve Air Mobility concept at the biennial show.
