Portugal has taken delivery of the first of four upgraded Lockheed C-130H Hercules aircraft, despite their imminent replacement by Embraer’s C-390 airlifter.
Embraer and Singapore’s ST Engineering say they will expand their collaboration in defense beyond the service and engineering of the C-390 transport aircraft.
According to Aviation Week Intelligence Network analysis, the new contract for three Embraer C-390s brings the number of outstanding firm or expected orders to 35, with Portugal, Austria, Brazil, Hungary, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic all expected to introduce fleets.
