UK-based 2Excel Engineering has gained UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) certification to provide MRO services for Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Under the new approval, the independent MRO specialist will provide heavy maintenance services up to C check on the LEAP-1A powered narrowbody at its Lasham, Hampshire base.

The company says it has already taken its first A320neo aircraft to undergo a C check from British charter airline Titan Airways.

The carrier has an existing relationship with 2Excel providing MRO services for its Boeing 737 and 757 aircraft.

The A320neo C check is the first of four scheduled checks for Titan Airways on that aircraft type.

“By adding Airbus A320neo CFM LEAP-1A aircraft to our Part 145 certificate, we will have expanded our capabilities and this allows us to build stronger relationships with both new and existing customers as they modernize their fleets," says Matt Caswell, CEO of 2Excel Engineering.

He continues: “Gaining this approval is also a further proof point of our drive to grow and expand our business and is part of our strategic roadmap to broaden the scope of what we can offer our customers, as well as securing long-term prospects for our company, its employees and the local economy.”

2Excel's existing heavy maintenance approvals include Boeing 727, 737 and 757 aircraft, as well as the Airbus A320ceo family aircraft and Beechcraft King Air and Piper PA-31 aircraft.
