Electronic instruments manufacturer Ametek has announced a new landing gear repair contract with passenger and cargo airline group ASL Aviation Holdings, in addition to aftermarket distribution agreements with inventory supply chain specialist Kellstrom Aerospace.

The agreement between its Ametek MRO AEM unit and ASL covers landing gear services for its ASL Airlines subsidiary’s Boeing 737NG and classic aircraft variants. ASL operates subsidiaries in the UK, Ireland, France and Belgium.

Included in the contract, which will run until 2026, are the provision of overhaul services and loan gear sets from Ametek MRO AEM, which operates three UK-based sites for its European operation.

"This agreement epitomizes the desire for ASL to create strategic partnerships with suppliers of the caliber of Ametek,” says James George, head of procurement at ASL Aviation Holdings. “It allows us to consolidate the overhaul activity for landing gears across our European 737 fleet and benefit from cementing a relationship with a trusted supplier in whom we have great confidence will deliver an excellent service for us.”

In addition to the ASL agreement, Ametek has also agreed to terms with U.S.-based Kellstrom Aerospace to both extend and expand existing commercial aftermarket distribution arrangements.

Under the renewed contracts, Kellstrom will distribute Ametek-manufactured components found on Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier and Gulfstream aircraft, along with parts for GE, CFM International and Pratt & Whitney engines.

Products include engine and airframe temperature, pressure and fluid sensors; heat exchangers and surface coolers; high-performance fans; heaters; fluid and gas transfer hoses; and liquid cooling and pumping solutions.

Five agreements involving Ametek Aerospace & Defense’s subsidiaries—comprised of Ametek Sensors and Fluid Management Systems, Hughes Treitler, Rotron, Airtechnology Group and FMH Aerospace—have been extended for a further five years.

Additionally, the company has added a sixth agreement in the form of a five-year distribution deal with California-based Ametek Pacific Design Technologies.
