As part of a strategy aimed at expanding product and service offerings globally, C&L Aviation Group has purchased UK-based MRO provider ACLAS Technics.

C&L, headquartered in Bangor, Maine and with international offices in Europe and Australia, disclosed the agreement on Tuesday (Dec. 6) with ACLAS Technics, which specializes in structural component repair and overhaul for multiple aircraft types, including Boeing 737, 747, 757, 777, Airbus A320, A330 and ATR 42 and ATR 72, among other aircraft types.

The company is based in Livingston, Scotland, around 15 miles west of Edinburgh. Charles Henery, ACLAS Technics founder who started the business in 2002, will remain in place as managing director at the company, C&L confirmed. 

“Having recently expanded structural component capability support on the ATR, Airbus, Boeing, and Bombardier platforms, we are excited to work with an exceptional group such as C&L Aviation, which brings a global network and exemplary reputation,” Henery says.

The acquisition price has not been disclosed by either party.

Through acquiring ACLAS Technics, C&L will particularly build up its capability for ATR 42 and 72 turboprops. In recent years, the company has added repair offerings for the aircraft types related to parts repair and services. It has also introduced OEM product distribution services and created a PMA parts manufacturing program for the ATR-manufactured aircraft.
