Product: Headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California, AGSE manufactures custom-designed ground support equipment (GSE) and tooling for aircraft and engines. AGSE says its in-house manufacturing of engine shipping stands reduces lead times and cost of ownership over the equipment lifespan. It has service centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia to support its engine stands, GSE and tooling. Its customers include airlines, lessors and OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney. In April, it signed a long-term contract extension with the engine-maker to provide engine shipping stands to support its geared turbofan engines. Last October, it signed a licensing contract with Pratt to manufacture GSE and tooling for its V2500 engines.

2. Global Service Network
Company: Hydro Systems
Product: Hydro Systems offers a range of GSE products and services for OEMs, airlines and MROs such as jacks, tow-bars, ground power units, landing gear and engine-change equipment. It is based in Biberach, Germany, and has 16 global locations, including 12 service centers throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia. In March, its Hydro UK subsidiary opened an expanded facility in Derby, England, to accommodate growing customer demand. Hydro also signed several agreements in April at MRO Americas, including an agreement with Liftsafe Group and JB Roche to provide product support in the Americas and to offer JB Roche’s maintenance shelters on a loan basis. It signed a partnership agreement with Didsbury Engineering to provide aftersales support and services for lifting and handling products, too. Allen Engineering Corp. signed an agreement with Hydro as well to manufacture its new RA-series axle jack.

3. Breaking Into GSE
Company: Oshkosh Corp.
Product: Industrial vehicle and equipment specialist Oshkosh Corp. is breaking into the GSE market through new acquisition plans. It entered a definitive agreement in late May to acquire GSE provider AeroTech from JBT Corp. for $800 million. AeroTech’s GSE products include aircraft tugs and tow tractors, mobile ground power units, deicers, and cargo transporters and loaders. Oshkosh says AeroTech’s products are closely aligned with its technology focus areas, which include electrification, autonomy, active safety and intelligent, connected products. In a statement, Oshkosh said it expects the acquisition to deliver “solid recurring revenue from its aftermarket parts and services offerings.”
