Australia-based Heston MRO has added several engine on-wing repair services to its aftermarket offerings.

As part of a CASA Part 145 approval, the company has introduced engines borescope inspections, bore blending, components inventory checks, quick engine change and line replaceable unit replacement, end of lease inspections, engine preservation and technical consultancy services.

Heston MRO says the new capabilities will be offered to airlines, asset owners and OEMs either from Brisbane Airport, Wellcamp Toowoomba Airport and other airports across Australia and the South Pacific region.

“Despite the challenging times in COVID-19 environment, Heston MRO is staying focused on its strategic direction to become a true Total Care partner for customers in the Australasian region,” says Asta Zirlyte, CEO of Heston MRO. “With the recent development of aerospace engines technology, more future engines MRO work will be performed on wing vs. the historical heavy shop visits.”

The new offerings follow existing engine capabilities including engines asset management services, engine leasing, trading and shop visit supervision.

Since rebranding as Heston MRO from Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia in early 2019, the Brisbane-headquartered maintenance provider has added several new capabilities outside of the engine segment including component repair services initially for Boeing 737NG aircraft with plans to expand into Airbus A320 parts.

Given the demand for aircraft storage brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, it has also ventured into aircraft parking and storage services at Wellcamp Airport, located around 90 miles from Brisbane.
