HAECO Acquires U.S. Engine MRO

Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO Group) has acquired U.S. engine repair specialist Jet Engine Solutions, a specialist in quick-turn repairs and lease returns for commercial aircraft engines.

HAECO says the acquisition for an undisclosed amount further enhances its strategy to bolster its engine support business worldwide. Previous moves towards growing this part of the MRO segment include opening a new engine support facility in Amsterdam, complimenting its existing facilities in Asia-Pacific and China. In Hong Kong, it repairs Rolls-Royce RB211-524 and Trent engines and services GE90 engines from Xiamen.

Jet Engine Solutions was established in 2009 and operates a 133,000 ft.2 facility in Dallas, Texas, along with additional technical advisory locations in the UK, Ireland and Singapore.

It also runs an FAA-approved repair station close to Dallas Fort Worth Airport, where it repairs around a dozen engines, several Boeing, Airbus and Embraer airframe types and some Honeywell-manufactured auxiliary power units.

“The development of the HAECO Global Engine Support network offers hospital and in-field maintenance as part of the HAECO Engine Services strategy,” says Frank Walschot, CEO of HAECO Group.

“Together with HAESL and TEXL, our Rolls-Royce and GE overhaul businesses, HAECO Group will provide a full range of services from on-wing repairs to full performance restoration, for a wide range of the most modern engines being operated on commercial aircraft," he adds.
