Turkey-based MRO provider MyTechnic has revamped its procurement processes by integrating SkySelect’s artificial intelligence-driven sourcing platform. According to the MRO, the transition is already demonstrating clear benefits in speed, supplier engagement and supply chain resilience.
MyTechnic implemented the SkySelect artificial intelligence (AI) platform to automate quoting and to streamline the purchase of aircraft components. Murat Eroglu, supply chain director at MyTechnic, tells Aviation Week Network that this change has had a measurable impact on both internal workflows and supplier behavior.
“The shift to an AI-driven system has changed the way suppliers operate,” Eroglu says. “They’re now motivated by quicker processing times, knowing that a speedy response can help them secure the deal. Additionally, suppliers who adopt automated quoting methods consistently provide better data quality and make fewer mistakes than those who rely on traditional manual responses, such as email.”
Eroglu adds that the system frees up his team to concentrate on strategic partnerships rather than routine tasks. “Thanks to the automation of low-dollar-value items, our team now has more time to focus on what's truly important: building strong relationships with our strategic suppliers,” he says.
According to MyTechnic, the benefits of AI integration go beyond administrative efficiency. Eroglu says the company is focused on gaining a better understanding of its supply chain, actively managing materials and diversifying parts sourcing.
“One significant step is utilizing AI to display real-time market availability for nearly all our parts (94%). This AI helps us quickly compare vendors on price, availability, location and delivery time, speeding up part finding and helping us avoid over-ordering or running out of crucial items,” he says.
Crucially, the platform also supports supplier diversification. “We used to rely on a few regular vendors and manually generated quotes, but now AI provides us with instant access to the entire market,” says Eroglu, which allows MyTechnic to work with a much wider range of suppliers. “We’re getting multiple quotes (three or more for 77% of parts) much faster,” he adds.
One potential barrier to AI adoption is the integration with legacy systems. However, Eroglu says SkySelect offered a rapid time-to-value without major disruption. “We do not foresee the need to replace or substantially reorganize our existing solutions; it is simply a matter of establishing data exchange with the service provider,” he says.
Data readiness, another common technology hurdle, also posed little difficulty. “We didn’t have to spend time on cleaning, standardizing or digitizing data, which is why the time-to-value is quick,” says Eroglu. “The process is run by SkySelect’s AI agents; we just need to provide our inputs, such as setting up our approved vendor list, business rules, accepted lists of alternative part numbers, etc.”
Supplier onboarding was mostly frictionless, says Eroglu, as around 90-95% of suppliers working with MyTechnic were already on the SkySelect platform. “We simply informed our account managers, and the SkySelect supplier development team ensured smooth onboarding for suppliers and resolved any queries,” he says.
