Joramco, the Amman-based aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider, has officially opened its new Hangar 7 at Queen Alia International Airport. The facility was inaugurated on Sept. 8 by Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

Covering 12,000 m2 (129,000 ft.2) and built with an investment of $30 million, Hangar 7 is expected to boost Joramco’s annual capacity to handle up to 240 aircraft of varying sizes. With the addition, the company’s facilities now span 257,000 m2, encompassing six hangars, 22 maintenance lines, and 10 workshops.

The new hangar is projected to increase Joramco’s capacity by around 30% as it comes online in September.

King Abdullah was briefed by Jeff Wilkinson, CEO of DAE Engineering, on Joramco’s expanding MRO services, which currently supports more than 60 international airlines.

Wilkinson also highlighted the Joramco Academy, which provides a four-year aircraft maintenance engineering program blending classroom study with “hands-on” training.

Alongside the expansion, Joramco announced leadership changes. Adam Voss has been appointed CEO, effective Sept. 14, succeeding Fraser Currie. Voss, who previously served as Joramco’s COO and most recently as CEO of Dubai-based TIM Aerospace, said his priority will be “driving operational excellence” as Joramco’s capacity expands to 22 parallel lines.

Currie has been promoted to chief strategy and commercial officer at DAE Engineering. Commenting on the transition, he said: “I am delighted to be moving to DAE Engineering and to work closely with chief executive Jeff Wilkinson on the continued success of Joramco and DAE Engineering.”

Wilkinson said: “With the tremendous growth trajectory that Joramco is currently experiencing—and the forecast continued growth over the coming years—it was critical that we expand our management team to ensure we continue to deliver to our customers, staff, and shareholders accordingly.

In 2024, Joramco performed more than 300 aircraft checks, resulting in more than 1.5 million billable labor hours.
