FedEx Express’s Team MEM won top overall team at this year’s competition.
ORLANDO—FedEx Express and Tulsa Tech dominated the Aerospace Maintenance Council’s 2026 Competition at MRO Americas.
FedEx Express’s Team MEM (Memphis International Airport) was the top team overall, also winning the MRO/OEM category and four competition events. FedEx Express Team Indy got first place in the commercial category and won five competition events.
Tulsa Tech’s Adult Students team won the school category, getting first place in the Moeller Click-Loc Challenge event and bringing home the AireXpert Dream Team Award. Tulsa Tech’s Aerospace Academy team also won two competition events.
Aircraft Engineers International won the general aviation category and the U.S. Army’s 128th Aviation Brigade—Team Chinook won the military category. Team Chinook competitor Tiffany Gray also won the AMC Professionalism Award in the professional category, while Jeremy Janes from Chennault Aviation Maintenance Academy won the award in the student category.
Embry-Riddle—Team 1 and Chennault Aviation Maintenance Academy got first and second place, respectively, in United’s John Goglia Competing with Professionalism Award. Ten students were awarded Phoeble Omlie Scholarships provided by the Aerospace Maintenance Council, American Airlines, Aviation Workforce Solutions, Chix Fix (United Airlines’ all-female competition team), GE Aerospace, JSfirm and TechForce Foundation. Four students received grants from the Northrop Rice Foundation to cover costs for FAA general, airframe and powerplant written tests.
Other notable performances included 2025’s winning teams, Southwest Airlines Team Herb and Tarrant County College. Team Herb won five competition events and Tarrant County College won six.
Universal Technical Institute–Houston won five competition events, Air Canada–Team 2 won four and Middle Tennessee State University–Team 2 won three. You can see the full list of winners here.
