Sikorsky announced April 15 it is now offering two production-ready kits for its H-60 Black Hawks available as options should the helicopter's customers decide to arm their choppers from the factory.

The kits, which are available either through foreign military sales or direct commercial sales, can be integrated either at Sikorsky’s facility in the United States or installed by PZL Mielec in Poland, Sikorsky's parent Lockheed Martin said in an announcement.

The kits are designed either for close air support or precision strike, with a rendering released by Lockheed Martin showing two door-mounted guns, a gun pod, rockets and air-to-ground missiles affixed to wings of a Black Hawk. They can also be upgrades after delivery via modular armament wings, a company statement said.

“The new Armed Black Hawk kits give warfighters one aircraft that can do it all: a single, versatile, combat-proven platform where ground units can quickly switch out the commercially-produced kits, keeping mission readiness high,” said Rich Benton, Sikorsky's vice president and general manager, in the statement.
