SINGAPORE—Korean Air and Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) have signed a strategic partnership agreement to collaborate on depot-level maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of the Thai military’s Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
The companies also plan to expand their cooperation to other military aircraft operated by Thailand’s armed forces.
Under the agreement, Korean Air will support TAI in standardizing military aircraft maintenance processes and provide technical training.
Korean Air’s aerospace division has extensive experience with the Black Hawk, having secured a license to produce the helicopter for the Republic of Korea military in 1991. The company has continued to provide depot-level MRO for the type.
In April 2025, Korean Air secured a contract worth 961.3 billion Korean won ($705 million) to upgrade 36 Republic of Korea Army UH-60P Black Hawks for special operations.
