IAI's Ellyon.
Israel Aerospace Industries has launched a push to provide an electronic attack and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, the Ellyon (Hebrew for “God Most High”).
The modified business jet will deliver full-spectrum jamming capability against airborne and ground-based threats, IAI said in a statement, noting that it will be able to suppress advanced radars and communications systems. The company said the system is based on the Bombardier Global 6500, though it also referred to the setup as platform-agnostic, usable on different, larger business jets.
IAI has long worked on special-mission aircraft, particularly in the airborne early warning arena. The Ellyon system will feature a long-range synthetic aperture radar with ground moving target indication capability, electro-optical and signals intelligence sensors, and wideband satellite communications, the company said.
The Ellyon's multimission sensor-management system combines inputs from various sensors to map the operating environment while also performing electronic attack functions, according to IAI. The setup also is designed to enable operations with uncrewed systems. IAI said the platform would feature a self-protection system, including countermeasures.
