Aloft Wins Additional Contract For BBJ Max 8 Interior Completion

Aloft AeroArchitects has been awarded a second contract to perform a VVIP interior completion on a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) Max 8 aircraft. According to Aloft, the aircraft will receive an Auxiliary Fuel System (AFS) in the forward and aft cargo compartments, extending its range by up to 50%. The BBJ Max 8 will undergo the completions process at Aloft’s hangar facility in Georgetown, Delaware, where the company is based.

Bell 525 Flight Simulator Gains FAA Qualification

Bell Textron’s Bell 525 simulator has received FAA Flight Simulation Interim Level C Training Device qualification. The simulator was designed by a Bell affiliate, TRU Simulation + Training, and is equipped with realistic cockpit environments, advanced motion platforms and high-fidelity visual systems. According to Bell, the simulator allows Bell pilots to earn flight hours on the platform ahead of type certification.

JSX Selects TrustFlight’s Centrik 5 QMS

JSX, a Dallas-based charter operator, has selected TrustFlight’s Centrik 5 quality management system (QMS) for use in its operations. JSX operates a fleet of 50 Embraer ERJ 135 and ERJ 145 aircraft and is updating its QMS to facilitate its plans for rapid growth. According to TrustFlight, the Centrik 5 platform allows operators to manage risk and safety analysis through a user-friendly dashboard.

CAE Publishes Standard Operating Procedures Manual

CAE has published its Airplane Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual, which is expected to be introduced in training sessions in 2026. According to CAE, the SOPs were developed by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in collaboration with CAE, original equipment manufacturers, operators and other training experts. The SOPs were created to serve as a framework for operators who may lack the resources to build in-house training programs.

Gulfstream G800 Achieves Eighth City-Pair Speed Record

On its way to the 2025 Dubai Airshow, Gulfstream Aircraft’s G800 earned its eighth city-pair speed record. The flight took place between Phuket, Thailand, and Dubai, UAE, in 5 hr. and 38 min. According to Gulfstream, the new record is the latest addition to over 760 speed records held by the Gulfstream fleet. The G800 offers a range of 8,200 nm. with a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85, and a high-speed cruise speed of Mach 0.90.

Chapman Freeborn Sends Emergency Charters To Jamaica

Chapman Freeborn, a global aircraft charter company, facilitated the delivery of aid to Jamaica in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. The company collaborated with World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization, to send its response team to Kingston. Additionally, the company transported a second rapid-response element from an undisclosed U.S.-based disaster response non-governmental organization, while positioning several aircraft to support further mission profiles.

ExecuJet South Africa Upgrades Jets For ADS-B Compliance

ExecuJet MRO Service South Africa has completed multiple ADS-B installations across various business jet aircraft. According to ExecuJet, its avionics team at Lanseria International Airport performed ADS-B modifications on Bombardier, Learjet, Embraer, Hawker and Beechcraft platforms. The modifications follow a recent South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) directive mandating ADS-B Out compliance for all aircraft operating within South African airspace.

VistaJet Launches Sleep Program

VistaJet has launched a sleep program for its customers on long-haul trips, describing it as the first science-backed sleep and recovery initiative in private aviation. The program was created in collaboration with Peter Attia, founder of Early Medical. The program aims to reduce the impact of disrupted circadian rhythms for passengers. According to VistaJet, 58% of its flights travel across multiple time zones.

Air Methods To Purchase Three Bell 407GXi Aircraft

Air Methods, a U.S.-based air medical service, signed an agreement with Bell Textron for the purchase of three Bell 407GXi helicopters. The operator also accepted delivery of a Bell 429 helicopter, expanding its air medical capabilities. Previously, Air Methods also signed a master purchasing agreement with Textron for up to 27 aircraft.

HALO-Flight Receives Fifth Bell 407GXi

HALO-Flight received the fifth and last delivery of a new Bell 407GXi helicopter from Textron. HALO-Flight is a nonprofit air medical service provider that serves a 28,000-mi.² region in southern Texas. According to the company, its fleet of aircraft is enrolled in Bell’s Customer Advantage Plan (CAP) program, making it Bell’s first customer to integrate CAP with GPMS’s Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) across its entire fleet.

The Wings Club Awards Scholarships To Aviation Students

The Wings Club Foundation awarded $345,000 in scholarships to 22 aviation and aerospace students during its annual gala in New York City. The awards were presented by Aviation Week Network President Greg Hamilton, who also serves as the foundation’s vice president and president elect. Since the foundation’s start in 2000, it has awarded $2.4 million to nearly 200 students.

MagniX Samson Batteries To Power Bye Aerospace eFlyer Aircraft

MagniX’s Samson battery has been selected as the power source for Bye Aerospace’s eFlyer 2 aircraft prototype. Bye Aerospace ordered batteries for the fully electric two-seater training aircraft, scheduled for its first flight in early 2026. According to MagniX, the battery features a cycle life of more than 1,000 full-depth discharge cycles with patented safety technology. The eFlyer 2 is designed to dramatically lower operating costs and reduce emissions for pilot training programs, Bye says.

Thornton Aviation Completes First Galileo HDX Installation On G200

Thornton Aviation, a California-based MRO, completed its first installation of Gogo’s Galileo HDX on a Gulfstream G200 aircraft. According to Thornton, the installation used the Trimec Aviation supplemental type certificate (STC). The system was upgraded from its legacy ATG system to Gogo’s Avance L3 system as part of a promotional deal.

The Blackhawk Group Announces $5 Million Facility Remodeling

Avex, a division of The Blackhawk Group, announced its $5 million investment toward the remodeling and modernization of its sales and maintenance facilities at Camarillo Airport in southern California. The new facility will feature a modernized customer lounge, private rooms, a design center and a community hub for TBM pilots and owners. The facility focuses on maintenance and avionics upgrades for TBM aircraft.

Jet Aviation Celebrates 30th Year In Singapore

Jet Aviation Singapore is celebrating its 30th year of operations in the country. The facility opened in 1995 as the company’s first location in Asia. Following the addition of new hangar facilities in 2014 and 2017, Jet Aviation Singapore became the third company site to join the Airbus Corporate Jets Service Center Network. According to the company, it is the only network member in the Asia-Pacific region.

SD Government To Supply Airborne Communications For U.S. Agency

SD Government, a division of Gogo, received a five-year federal contract to supply multi-band, multi-orbit global satellite communications for an undisclosed U.S. agency. According to the company, the agreement was initially valued at $3 million and is a follow-on from Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II activity originally awarded to SD Government before its merger with Gogo. The contract will consolidate aero communications across the agency’s entire fleet of aircraft over the next five years.

Axis Jet Adds Second Citation X To Fleet

Axis Jet, a California-based charter company, announced the addition of a Cessna Citation X to its managed charter fleet. The aircraft is operated under the certificate of Axis Jet’s FAA Part 135 sister company, Modesto Executive Air Charter. According to the company, the Citation X was selected to enhance Axis Jet’s long-range charter capabilities and to support its growth in the West Coast charter market.
