From The Archives: Adam A700 Flight Report
The Adam Aircraft A700 composite-material twinjet graced the cover of the 14 August 2006 issue and at the time was in its FAA certification flight test programme.
The company's first A700 had reached 41,000 ft and 340 KTAS, checking high-altitude operation of its Williams FJ-33 engines.
Because A700 No. 1 was not in production configuration, it had been retired from testing. Climb, high-altitude performance, and handling qualities evaluations were expected to be completed after aircraft No. 3 began flying in October.
Airspeed calibration, inlet distortion, stall-speed, and initial runway performance were scheduled to be completed in September by A700 No. 2.
