Phelan Green Hydrogen has licensed technologies from Johnson Matthey Catalyst Technologies for its planned electro‑sustainable aviation fuel facility in the Western Cape, South Africa. Construction of the facility in Saldanha Bay is expected to begin by the end of 2026 and is part of the wider Phelan Green Hydrogen Project which expects investment of R47 billion (more than £2 billion).

Bombardier Delivers First Global 8000 Into Africa
Bombardier announced the delivery of the first Global 8000 aircraft in Africa to BUA Group, a Nigerian-based multinational company with interests across cement, food, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, ports, terminals and real estate. The aircraft will support BUA Group’s long-range travel requirements, enabling seamless nonstop connections from Lagos to key business destinations around the world, including Los Angeles, Perth and Tokyo.
Deer Jet inaugurates China’s Comac Business Jet
The first Comac Business Jet, a 19- to 29-seat version of China’s C909 airliner (formerly ARJ21) began commercial operations on June 22, when operator Deer Jet completed a charter flight from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport.

Gulfstream’s Apprenticeship Program Grows
Sixty high school students from Georgia and South Carolina joined Gulfstream Aerospace’s apprenticeship program, which includes nine offerings such as aircraft manufacturing, avionics installation, aircraft maintenance and nondestructive testing. Most apprenticeships last about 24 months. Gulfstream has about 550 apprentices in its programs.

Cirrus Aircraft announced its new SR Series Annual Flight Review Course, a Cirrus Approach module designed to promote continuous flight training, pilot proficiency and safety for all pilots, including thousands of S420, SR22, and SR22T pilots, regardless of aircraft ownership. The Annual Flight Review Course consists of three segments: online learning, ground instruction and flight instruction with a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot.
Elevate Jet Launches AI Pricing Engine
Elevate Jet announced what it describes as the world’s first billion-dollar artificial intelligence (AI) aviation pricing engine, called Ruby, for use in booking private jet charter flights. Ruby was trained using 30 years and hundreds of thousands of hours of flight data from Elevate Jet. Ruby provides pricing transparency, the company says. The app allows a booking to be made in seconds, it says.
ExecuJet MRO Services Australasia To Expand Falcon Capability
ExecuJet MRO Services Australasia is expanding its Falcon maintenance capability in Sydney, with new investments in specialist tooling, training and technical resources to support upcoming Falcon 7X heavy maintenance work. FAA To Protect FIFA World Cup Games From Drone Threats

Donated by Longmont resident Mike Seavall, the Maverick TwinJet 1500 is one of only four aircraft of its make and model to ever have been put in the air.
Air bp Receives Fuels Extension At Teruel Airport In Spain
Air bp has been awarded a seven-year extension to supply aviation fuels at Teruel Airport in eastern Spain. Air bp, the aviation arm of bp which serves 650 locations across more than 40 countries, will also invest in upgrading the facilities, increasing total storage capacity to 320 m³.

U.S. FAA certification was announced in December 2025.
