MEBA2012: Lufthansa poised for next completion

Lufthansa Technik has said its 'VIP and Executive Jet Solutions' division is in its final preparations for the second VIP Boeing 784-8 completion in Hamburg, Germany.

The aircraft, for an undisclosed customer, is expected to arrive before the end of this month.

“We are currently preparing the installation of a unique cabin interior and a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and cabin system,” said Walter Heerdt, senior vice president marketing and sales.

The first VIP 747-8 has been undergoing a completion since the end of August.

The contract for the second 747-8 was signed during the Dubai Airshow in 2011.

Lufthansa Technik will also work on three wide-body and one narrow-body aircraft completion in parallel in Hamburg.
