LAS VEGAS—Textron Aviation announced the availability of Starlink inflight connectivity on the Cessna Citation Longitude, its largest business jet, following FAA issuance of a supplemental type certificate (STC) to engineering company AeroMech.

SpaceX’s Starlink is a high-speed, low-latency, Ku-band inflight connectivity system supported by a constellation of nearly 7,000 operational, low-Earth-orbit satellites. AeroMech’s STC uses a Starlink Aviation Kit consisting of an Aero Terminal electronically steered antenna mounted to the top of the fuselage, a power supply unit and one wireless access point. Power is supplied from the aircraft.

The super-midsize Longitude entered service in 2019. The twinjet accommodates 12 passengers; it flies to 3,500 nm with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves.

“The Cessna Citation Longitude already delivers an exceptional experience with its quiet cabin, extended range and advanced avionics,” said Brian Rohloff, Textron Aviation senior vice president for customer support. “With Starlink now available as an aftermarket option for Longitude customers, they can enjoy high-speed, reliable connectivity that keeps them productive and connected throughout their flight.”

In addition to Longitudes, Starlink is available on Citation X, 560 Excel, Latitude and Sovereign jets and Caravan and King Air turboprops, Textron Aviation says. Customers can schedule installations at Textron Aviation Service Centers in North America and select international service centers.
