Fractional ownership and jet card provider Airshare will equip its Embraer Phenom 300s with the Gogo Galileo HDX satellite communications terminal, Gogo said May 28.
Airshare selected the Gogo satcom system following a demonstration flight in which eight passengers and two crew used 23 devices to access Galileo service, Gogo said. The system transferred 16GB of data while supporting simultaneous use of applications including Netflix, YouTube, FaceTime, WhatsApp, DirecTV Stream, Hulu, Microsoft Teams and iperf performance testing.
Gogo’s flat-panel, electronically steered HDX antenna connects to the Eutelsat OneWeb constellation of low-Earth-orbit satellites for Galileo internet connectivity in all phases of flight.
Airshare, based in Overland Park, Kansas, operates Bombardier Challenger 3500s, Phenom 300s and other jets for charter.
“Delivering premium connectivity that keeps customers productive and entertained is essential to our flying experience,” said Airshare CEO John Owen. “We look forward to offering our Phenom 300 customers the same standard they expect at the office or at home.”
