Our very own David M. North took the controls of this light twinjet C22J Ventura trainer. The aircraft was designed and built by Italy's Caproni and was being marketed in the U.S as a fully aerobatic aircraft to civilian pilots wanting an unusual aircraft with good performance and low operating costs.

The aircraft is powered by two Microturbo TRS 18-1 engines rated at 325-lb. thrust each at takeoff. The article is illustrated with images of the cockpit and one of the Microturbo engines situated behind the cockpit seats.

Find out how North rated flying the aircraft. Read the full article on page 60: "Caproni Stresses Low Operating Cost, Aerobatic Performance Of C22J Ventura" from the December 16, 1985 issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology.
