Signature Aviation has opened a newly built fixed-base operation (FBO) at the Edinburgh Airport (EDI) in Scotland, its fourth location in Scotland, and its 47^th in Europe. 

According to Signature, the facility’s 6,497 m² general aviation (GA) ramp will allow the new FBO to accommodate aircraft of all sizes for charters, private operators and military customers.

The FBO features state-of-the-art facilities, VIP suites, a bar and a conference room. Signature hopes to attract tourists, businesses and professionals from around the world to Scotland’s capital city. By early 2024, Signature plans to upgrade its FBO and security screening equipment with a state-of-the-art CT3 X-ray machine.

According to Signature, the EDI location could host its Elite Class service—a service offering private security screenings and chauffeured transportation directly to the customer’s commercial flight and back. The service will launch, pending discussions with commercial airlines.

Signature describes the new facilities as fully self-sufficient and plans to transition its CSR fleet to electric vehicles.
