As business aviation grows in the Asia-Pacific region, organizers of the Business Aviation Asia Forum & Expo (BAAFEx) say they expect the March 2027 expo to be about 50% larger than the inaugural event in 2025.
Organizers attended Aero Friedrichshafen in April to promote the next BAAFEx, which runs March 22-24, 2027, in Singapore.
“The momentum has carried on,” Chet Lam, managing director of Experia Events, told Aviation Week during Aero Friedrichshafen.
They expect 75 or more exhibitors and more than 3,000 visitors, along with a planned static display and panel discussions addressing industry topics, such as sustainability, airport infrastructure and regulatory developments. By comparison, the 2025 event had 2,000 attendees and 50 participating companies.
BAAFEx was launched to fill a gap in Asia Pacific’s business aviation landscape, and response to the inaugural event exceeded expectations, Lam said.
Organizers are also working to expand the 2027 edition to include helicopters and eVTOLS, reflecting the growing interest in those areas, Lam said.
The Asia-Pacific region is a key growth market for business aviation. The fleet of business jets in Asia-Pacific grew 1.5% in 2025 to 1,168 aircraft, with growth led by India, organizers noted. Despite the expanding market, the Asia-Pacific region holds only a small portion of the global business fleet, giving the region “enormous potential” for further growth in the fleet.
Asia Pacific’s Gross Domestic Product is growing at a fast pace as well—at more than 6%, which creates business activity, Lam said. The number of high-net-worth individuals is also rising.
“So, you have got GDP growth, business growth, affluence growth—I think that really gives us all the ingredients for another successful 2027 run,” Lam said.
