Honda Aircraft Co. has received the largest order to date for its HondaJet very light jets. European air taxi Wijet placed an order for 16 HondaJets valued at $78 million at today’s list prices. The first jet will be delivered this month, with deliveries to take place over the next 18 months. Wijet currently operates 15 business jets throughout Europe. With the order, Wijet becomes the worldwide official launch airline for the HondaJet, it said. “After our acquisition of our British counterpart Blink Ltd., this fleet overhaul supported by the HondaJet marks a major new step in Wijet’s growth,” said Alexandre Azoulay, Wijet cofounder. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of 422 kt. and a 1,223-nm range with four occupants. With the order, Wijet is starting the sale of its jet cards on the new aircraft. It also will offer a real-time mobile booking app in 2018 for charter and jet card clients.
