DUBAI—Logistics and express delivery company DHL has placed an order for nine additional 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters.

The deal, announced Nov. 15 at the Dubai Airshow, will help expand DHL's long-haul intercontinental fleet in response to surging demand for cargo capacity.

DHL is an established 767-300BCF customer. The German company has taken delivery of seven of a batch of eight of the type that have since been leased to DHL partner airlines in the Middle East and Latin America.

The medium-sized widebody converted freighter can carry up to 51.6 tonnes (113,900 lb.) on ranges up to 6,190 km (3,345 nm).

Boeing has more than 100 orders and commitments for the aircraft.
