China Eastern & Boeing 737-800 In Numbers

A China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 (s/n 41474, reg. B-1791) crashed into the mountains near Wuzhou, southern China, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed on 21 March 2022. MU5735 was carrying 123 passengers and nine crew members onboard from Kunming to Guangzhou.


China is the largest operator of 737-800s in the world; it operates 24.6% of the global in-service fleet (ISF) of the type. Among the top 10 Chinese operators of 737-800s, China Eastern is fifth, with 60 of the type in-service at present.
