Zimbabwe looks for German tourism
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is hoping to boost German tourists flying to the country by leading a delegation at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin.
The delegation is aiming to promote the country as a tourist destination.
Germany has the world’s largest outbound travel market, with half of the population travelling abroad for a holiday each year, leading to 76 million travellers.
“Germany contributes 18% of European arrivals into Zimbabwe and ranks 3rd after the USA and UK. The Authority faces the challenge to achieve 100 000 arrivals from the German market by 2020; in line with the National Tourism Blueprint: Towards A $5 Billion Economy by 2020,” said the ZTA.
The German tourism market is known for its high spending, averaging $2,100 per person, per trip.
