WORLD ROUTES: Toronto Secures New Winter Services

Toronto Pearson Airport has announced that WestJet Airlines will be offering four new sun destinations from Toronto this winter, as revealed by The HUB earlier this year. Effective October 28, 2012 service from Toronto Pearson to Antigua and Barbuda (ANU) will begin. These flights will be offered twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays until April 24, 2013.

Service between Toronto Pearson and Curacao (CUR) will also begin on October 28th. This weekly flight will be offered on Sundays until April 21, 2013. Beginning on October 29th, Toronto Pearson’s guests will be able to take advantage of WestJet’s new service to Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR). These flights will be running every Monday and Saturday until April 27, 2013.

Daily service between Toronto and Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (POS) will begin on November 16 and run through April 27, 2013. WestJet is also continuing its successful non-stop service between Toronto Pearson and New York City via LaGuardia Airport over the winter season.

Elsewhere, in response to demand from its passengers, Air Canada is also enhancing service to Munich over the winter season. This winter, service between Toronto Pearson will increase to a daily operation , offering their passengers even more great service. Meanwhile, the success of the service between Toronto Pearson and New York JFK has lead Air Canada to continue that service over the winter season. These flights will continue three times a week.

In 2011, Toronto Pearson handled 33.4 million passengers and is ranked 4th largest in international passenger traffic in North America. The focus of Toronto Pearson continues to be on competitiveness, growing the airport's status as an international gateway, meeting the needs of our guests and ensuring the long-term success of the organisation, our airline customers and the regional economy.
