WORLD ROUTES 2011: WestJet to Launch Toronto to San Juan Service in November

Canadian budget carrier WestJet Airlines will be launching a new non-stop seasonal flight between Toronto and San Juan, Puerto Rico, twice weekly on Saturday and Sunday, beginning November 5.

“We are always pleased when our airline partners offer new and exciting offerings for guests in Toronto,” Pamela Griffith-Jones, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, operator of Toronto Pearson, told The HUB. “We are sure that our guests will love the opportunity to explore the beautiful and historic city of San Juan with this new service by WestJet.”

The GTAA is the operator of Toronto Pearson International Airport, the busiest airport in Canada and one of the largest airports in North America in terms of passenger and air cargo traffic. In 2010, Toronto Pearson handled an estimated 31.9 million passengers. The focus of the GTAA continues to be on competitiveness, growing the airport’s status as an international gateway, meeting the needs of our travellers and ensuring the long-term success of the organisation, its airline customers and the regional economy.
