WORLD ROUTES 2011: Route Exchange Airline Briefings

Gain an insight into the planning structure of airlines, their markets of interest and the relevant information that airlines need to deliver new routes.

Over 20 carriers are taking the opportunity at the 17th World Route Development Forum in Berlin to brief the Routes audience on their network development strategy and what they want to see in an airport approach. This is a record number for a Routes event and the special Route Exchange Airline Briefings will take place in either of the two Route Exchange chalets in the Hall 4. These are scheduled over two meeting slots and will typically last 30 minutes with ten minutes for questions at the end and will provide the opportunity for delegates (Please note that many of these sessions are restricted to Airport and Tourism Authority delegates only) to gain an insight into the planning structure of airlines, their markets of interest and the relevant information that airlines need to deliver new routes.

With over 300 airline and airport members, Route Exchange, the innovative new route development tool from Routesonline, hosts airports and airline clients who are leading the way with digital marketing and are actively campaigning their market intelligence through this online platform.

Beyond the recent design refresh, the other significant additions to our airport profiles include OAG RouteMapper - an interactive route mapping and timetable product, showing at-a-glance all the destinations served from the airport and the carriers flying these routes, making it easier for airline network planning teams to evaluate commercial opportunities.

In June 2011, AirAsia X launched their European expansion strategy exclusively via Route Exchange, inviting European Airports to send proposals and bids for the allocation of their new long haul aircraft. 200 airlines now use Route Exchange to request data and proposals from airports, whilst airports receive updates and invitations to send proposals for new airline services. The unique Route Exchange messaging system, is a secure and trusted platform for airports to deliver their new route proposals directly to the network planning team of the airlines requesting the data.

Route Exchange Live takes the online product into Routes events by giving airline members the opportunity to promote their brand to their target airport market as well as allowing airlines to educate a select audience of airports on their requirements for potential new service and additional frequency opportunities. Three dedicated Route Exchange theatres give unparalleled opportunities to gain an insight into the planning structure of airlines.
