Virgin Atlantic will be returning to the Mexican market for the first time since 2019 with flights to Cancun International Airport (CUN) to launch next year.

The carrier will open service between its London Heathrow Airport (LHR) base and CUN from Oct. 19, 2025. Flights will be operated 3X-weekly on a winter seasonal basis.

Virgin Atlantic will be offering the only nonstop service between LHR and CUN. British Airways is currently serving CUN on a winter seasonal basis from London Gatwick Airport.

Virgin Atlantic said in a statement that passengers will be able to make “seamless onward connections with SkyTeam partner Aeromexico and codeshare partner LATAM to destinations including Mexico City, Santiago, Buenos Aries and Lima.”

The airline will operate the LHR-CUN service with an Airbus A350-1000 configured to carry 397 passengers.

CCO Juha Jarvinen said Virgin Atlantic is adding “a new destination for some winter sun,” with the service providing access to Cancun’s popular beaches as well as onward connections via partners.
