UAE to apply for ICAO council position

According to media reports in Dubai today, the UAE is planning to re-nominate itself as a candidate for International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) council membership to continue its active role in the international civil aviation sector.

Dubai newspaper Gulf News says today that In its claim the federal government will reiterate that the UAE has eight modern airports and five successful national carriers with a combined fleet size of 208 aircraft.

It will also point out that is has established close working relationships with ICAO to enhance safety services in the Middle East as well as other regions of the world.
