Swiss roll out of Jeddah

Swiss International Airlines has announced that is set to discontinue its scheduled operations from Zurich to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah. The flight is currently an extension of the Zurich Riyadh sector which will also be discontinued.

The four times weekly service operated with A340-300 will no longer operate from 01 Feb 2010. Swiss currently has 59% share of the market with 14% leakage flying through Frankfurt onto Lufthansa services.

Swiss passengers will be able to continue flying Lufthansa which is the majority shareholder of Swiss and will feed passengers from Zurich into Frankfurt.
