Singapore Airlines will resume flights to Riyadh in June, launching a 4X-weekly service from Singapore to the Saudi capital and marking the carrier’s return to the city after more than a decade.
The route will be operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft in a medium-haul configuration, offering 40 business-class seats and 263 economy seats. Outbound flights will operate as SQ498, with return services designated SQ499.
“Our return to Riyadh comes amid its thriving business environment and ambitious development, which make it one of the Middle East’s most dynamic cities,” SIA CCO Lee Lik Hsin says.
“Beyond a new destination, this service will potentially allow us to work with our partners to offer our customers additional travel options across the region.”
Singapore Airlines last served Riyadh in 2014, having previously operated a Singapore–Riyadh–Jeddah service that launched in 2012. Within the group, low-cost subsidiary Scoot currently flies four times per week to Jeddah.
In June 2024, Singapore Airlines signed a cooperation agreement with startup carrier Riyadh Air covering interline connectivity, codesharing, cargo and loyalty programs.
