Ryanair adds new routes

Low cost carrier Ryanair has announced that it will increase capacity from its bases in Dusseldorf and Brussels. It currently operates from Dusseldorf Weeze airport, the secondary airports serving the German city.

From the end of March 2010, Ryanair will station a third based B737-800 aircraft in NRN with new thrice weekly service to Laapeenranta in Finland and to the Polish city of Szczecin. The new based aircraft will mean that there are 8 based aircraft at NRN serving 49 destinations.

Ryanair is by far the dominant carrier in Weeze with over 329 weekly flights. The only other carriers operating from the secondary airport are Pegasus Airlines whom are based in Turkey and Hungarian LCC Wizz which operate two weekly frequencies.

Ryanair will also launch six new routes from Brussles Charleroi from March with the basing of 4 new B737-800 aircraft. The new routes will be

Brussels Charleroi - Ibiza
Brussels Charleroi - Kaunas
Brussels Charleroi - Krakow
Brussels Charleroi - NAdor
Brussels Charleroi - Seville
Brussels Charleroi - Zadar

Ryanair currently operates 430 weekly flights from Charleroi to over 50 destinations and is the largest carrier. Wizz Air is the second largest carrier with 49 weekly seats.
